After the lovely swan I had great fun looking that this tiny chick falling out of his nest and then following mum around, chirping for food.
This is a very young hatchling Coot.
A tiny body, massive feet on stumpy legs, a brilliant red head and stumpy wings.
Here is an older one taking an insect from one of the parents
