MOTH AKA FISH-LINE SILKWORM (Saturnia pyretorum)

this is one of the many moths featured in my book about the bugs of Hong Kong....see more information below as a sample page. Most people would see these large brilliant yellow and green/blue caterpillars rather than the nocturnal moth.

Here below I found one of the caterpillars making the hard chrysalis that you can find in the parks around Hong Kong, particularly in the Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung.
