The black-throated laughingthrush (Pterorhinus chinensis) is not a bird I see very often in Hong Kong. This one was introduced to me by Paul where he had seen them previously in an urban park.

They love forests, often perching on low branches like in the portrait above...but also can be seen foraging on the ground like in the pics below.


Normally a hi-key light shot, into the light, full frame as below. I adjusted with 1.5 stops of exposure compensation which blew out the background a bit, but was better adjusted for the bird, and then I darkened the blacks again in post processing.
