Overseas lantern bugs.
I've just got back from the jungles of kaeng krachan national park in Thailand, and I will be posting some of the wonderful critters I found there.... and first off are a couple of different Lantern bugs.
First off the very similar red-nosed lanternfly; Pyrops karenius. similar to those in hk, but with much darker hing wings.

Then we have a lightly different form, what i think is the Saiva gemmata...Saiva gemmata is the type species of the genus Saiva, which are lantern bugs.

YOu can compare these to the beautiful, intricate bugs that can be found on lychee trees - around Hong Kong.
