So what now? Inger Andersen, head of UNEP and longtime champion for nature, admonishes that, “An important pillar in our post-COVID recovery plan must be to arrive at an ambitious, measurable and inclusive framework, because keeping nature rich, diverse and flourishing is part and parcel of our life’s support system.” Green leaders in the UK, including the Minister for the Environment, Lord Zach Goldsmith, introduced nature as a key solution: “Today, the world urgently needs a new such commitment to nature as we recover from COVID-19. Nature should be at the heart of the recovery we seek.”

I have to repeat that in bold.
Unfortunately, it is only Green Leaders saying that.
And in Hong Kong? Green leadership? The waste charge due to be introduced in 2013 is still in deadlock, no-one even looks at the BSAP green/sustainability plan that ends in 2021 any more....whilst we see a government grappling with its own power issues. And a mainland law coming that will make it an offence to say anything bad against TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), one of the main evils when it comes to the sickening wildlife trade. Again, putting economic development and selfish greed above what is best for the planet and its many residents.

Well, i am working on my own small campaign about biodiversity at Lions Nature Education Centre, about how pressure can be applied for the good of habitat and biodiversity.
and just a reminder that Kadoorie Farm is now open again, with lots of lovely blossoms....and ponds and well managed habitats (unlike Lions Nature Education Centre).
