Fast...and elusive

I was in Bristol - UK - last week, following a bird guide (see link below) to try and photograph the peregrine falcon. It was an overcast day, and was very quiet...after 4 hours I had seen it on a cliff perch, and then managed to take it leaving the perch - no flybys.

This is probably my best shot (pics here either 560mm or 800mm and massive crops at high ISO).


This bird is best known for its diving speed during flight—which can reach more than 300 km (186 miles) per hour—making it world's fastest animal (except for the motoGP racers).
