Masked Palm Civet

I have written about this lovely animal before. Here is a young juvenile masked palm civet or gem-faced civet (Paguma larvata).

Often seen at night, which makes taking photos a challenge.

Despite it being hunted and eaten, it is classified by IUCN in 2008 as Least Concern as it occurs in many protected areas, and is tolerant to some degree of habitat modification...and they can be seen often in quite urban areas of Hong Kong, like the Peak, or Mid-levels.

Is it safe? Is it safe?
