if you see a smallish white bird, with black feet, and a much shorter yellow beak, then this is the Cattle Egret (this one in non breeding plummage, at breeding time it gets easier, as it goes an unmistakable orange)

They are also more likely to be seen on land and near grazing meadows and farm lands.
